Description:
Historic Italian sculptor Giacomo Manzù used to say that the sculpture is a hand gesture, a gesture of love. Filmed in Milan, the documentary follows the production of a Velasco Vitali sculpture inside the Fonderia Artistica Battaglia, where the ancient traditions of bronze sculpture making remain unchanged since the Sixth century B.C. Here the past and the present share the same gestures and where each gesture is a sculpture itself. The film, first work of the promising Italian director Francesco Clerici, won the Berlinale International Critics Prize in 2015 and is still being screened in cinemas around the world.
